01

Respect people and property

Treat the host, other guests, neighbors, staff, homes, venues, and property with respect. Harassment, threats, violence, stalking, sexual misconduct, theft, unlawful discrimination, property damage, and other dangerous or unlawful behavior are prohibited.

Do not enter areas the host has not made available to guests. You are responsible for damage you intentionally or negligently cause.

02

Seat requests and cancellations

Answer host questions accurately. A seat request does not guarantee acceptance, and an accepted seat does not guarantee that the dinner will occur.

If your request is accepted, your name may appear in the dinner’s guest-list preview. Other accepted guests can see the full guest list, including names and profile photographs.

If you can no longer attend, cancel your request or give up your seat as soon as reasonably possible. Do not bring another person unless the host has approved them.

03

Private spaces and addresses

Many dinners take place in private homes. An exact address and arrival instructions are provided only for attending the dinner. Do not publish, sell, scrape, photograph, or distribute a private residential address or use it for an unrelated purpose.

Your access to private details may end if your seat is canceled, the host removes you, or the dinner is canceled.

04

Food and allergies

Tell the host about allergies, intolerances, dietary restrictions, and other relevant concerns. Food may be prepared in a private kitchen and may contain or come into contact with allergens.

Common Hours does not inspect kitchens, prepare food, or guarantee food safety. If you have a severe allergy or medical dietary condition, you are responsible for deciding whether attendance is appropriate.

05

Alcohol and transportation

Follow applicable alcohol laws. Do not consume alcohol if you are under the legal drinking age, and do not drive while impaired. You are responsible for your consumption and transportation to and from the dinner.

06

Tickets and payments

For ticketed dinners, the host is the seller and Stripe processes payments on the host’s connected account. Continuing with a paid RSVP authorizes the displayed ticket price if the host approves you. Payment is due at the cancellation deadline shown on your RSVP, the day before dinner, or immediately if you’re approved after that time. Cancel before the displayed date and time at no cost for a full refund. Later cancellations or not attending do not automatically refund your ticket. If payment fails, your seat is released and you’re emailed; declined cards are not automatically retried. If the host cancels or removes you after payment, a full ticket refund is initiated, including the Common Hours fee. Refunds may take time and can remain pending until the host supplies sufficient funds. Other refund requests are handled by the host through Stripe. These policies do not limit rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

07

Photos and recording

Be considerate before photographing or recording people in a private social setting. If someone asks not to be photographed or recorded, respect that request. Do not upload another person’s image unless you have the permission needed to do so.

08

Host rules

Follow reasonable rules the host establishes for the location, timing, food, seating, pets, smoking, alcohol, photography, or use of the property, provided those rules are consistent with the dinner listing, these agreements, and applicable law.

09

Personal safety and assumption of risk

Meeting people you do not know and entering a private residence involves inherent social and physical risks. Use reasonable judgment and look after your belongings and transportation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with attending a social gathering, including risks involving food, alcohol, transportation, property, other people, and a private residence or third-party venue. This does not waive rights that cannot legally be waived.

10

Common Hours is not the host

Common Hours provides the platform through which you discover or request to join a dinner. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Common Hours does not organize, supervise, inspect, or operate the dinner and does not guarantee the identity, conduct, food, location, or safety of a host or guest.

This Agreement is incorporated into the Terms of Service.

11

Reporting problems

Report a safety concern or agreement violation to hello@commonhrs.com. If there is an immediate threat or emergency, contact local emergency services first.
